BCv2
Update your card
The latest firmware is 0x01050045, from Oct 05, 2026.
Update it right here Beta
- Plug the card's DATA port into this computer.
- Hold BOOT, plug a charger into POWER, then let go. The display stays off.
- Press Update and pick your card.
First time on Linux? Chrome needs a udev rule, its under Trouble.
Getting the firmware… Keep the card plugged in.
Easiest: use your Android phone Beta
Scan this with your phone or open anasmalas.com/bcv2/update in Chrome on it. The update runs right in the browser, nothing to install.
No Android phone? Get the Windows flasher Beta, right click it and pick "Run with PowerShell".
Use a Mac or an Android phone
iPhones and iPads cant update the card, Apple doesnt let websites talk to USB. Open anasmalas.com/bcv2/update in Chrome on a Mac or an Android phone and it does it right there.
Open this page in Chrome or Edge
This browser cant talk to USB devices, so it cant update the card. No Chrome? The easy flasher under Other ways works too.
Other ways to update
In the browser Beta
Chrome or Edge on a Mac, an Android phone, a Chromebook or Linux. Windows needs the driver from the Windows flasher first, then it works there too.
Easy flasher Beta
Downloads the flashing tool and the firmware, then flashes every card you plug in. The window goes green when its done.
Windows: download bcv2-flasher.ps1, right click it and pick "Run with PowerShell" (on Windows 11 it might be under "Show more options"). The first time, it walks you through Zadig to install the driver.
Mac and Linux: open Terminal and run these:
cd ~/Downloads
curl -fLO https://anasmalas.com/bcv2/flash/bcv2-flasher.sh
bash bcv2-flasher.sh
Do it yourself
- Download the latest firmware.
- Get a flashing tool: WCHISPTool on Windows, or wchisp on Mac and Linux.
- Plug DATA into your computer, hold BOOT, plug a charger into POWER and let go.
- In WCHISPTool pick CH32X035, choose the file and press Download. With wchisp, run
wchisp flashwith the file.
Heads up, on Windows WCHISPTool uses a different driver than the browser and the easy flasher, so stick to one.
Is it safe?
Yep. The card's bootloader lives in its own memory that an update cant touch, so if anything goes wrong just put it back in bootloader mode and try again.
The browser can only talk to the card you pick in the list. The firmware is checked against its SHA-256 before anything gets written, and the card checks every byte after.
The easy flashers are short plain scripts, read them first! They only download wchisp v0.3.0 from its GitHub page and the firmware from this site, and check both against fixed SHA-256 hashes. No admin needed, except the Linux udev rule, and on Windows the Microsoft C++ runtime and the driver if you dont have them yet. Those ask first.
All of it is on GitHub.
Trouble?
Card not in the list, or the display came on? It didnt go into the bootloader. Unplug POWER, hold BOOT a bit harder and plug it back in.
Windows: the browser needs a driver for the card. Run the Windows flasher once and it sets it up with Zadig, or just use your phone.
Linux: Chrome needs a udev rule to use the card. Run this once, then unplug POWER and plug it back in with BOOT held:
sudo tee /etc/udev/rules.d/60-bcv2-wchisp.rules <<'EOF'
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTRS{idVendor}=="4348", ATTRS{idProduct}=="55e0", TAG+="uaccess"
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTRS{idVendor}=="1a86", ATTRS{idProduct}=="55e0", TAG+="uaccess"
EOF
sudo udevadm control --reload-rules && sudo udevadm trigger
Stopped partway? Nothing is broken. Put it back in bootloader mode and update again.
